Remodel Brings Peace of Mind

by Winans Construction Staff

A simple roof leak accelerated plans for the home remodeling project Margie Gurdziel's family had been considering for some time. The Gurdziels plan to retire in their home, so they want to make sure the house is built for comfortable and safe long-term living.

"There were some nagging issues about stability and livability that had been on our minds for a while," says Margie,"When the roof leak started, that was our impetus to get the project underway. We understood that there was an inter-connectedness to making our home safe and comfortable. Winans helped us sort through the options and set priorities."

A new roof, new skylights and enhanced attic venting significantly improved the livability of the upper level with better temperature control and natural light. Safety was upgraded with earthquake retrofitting, a new chimney and roof work. New windows reduce noise and improve heat retention. An updated electrical system creates more reliable and convenient connections to the internet and other media.

"We now have the peace of mind that comes from knowing our home is ready for long-term living with maximum comfort and a minimum of maintenance," says Margie.
