Take Advantage of a Great Time to Remodel

The silver lining of the economic slowdown for people considering a remodel is the decrease in demand for craftsmen, contractors and materials for remodeling projects. A project that once took months to plan and then further months to schedule can now be accomplished in record time. Winans’ future project pipeline has decreased significantly and we can now plan and start a job in as little as 3 to 4 weeks. In addition, many material prices are coming down significantly. It is not across the board -  asphalt products such as roofing materials, and gypsum products such as drywall, are still increasing. But, copper, for instance, which has risen dramatically in prior years and is a main component of a remodel that involves plumbing, has started to come down.  Lumber has also decreased, in some cases by as much as 14.5%.

Our design department, which is comprised of Alisa Hofmann, a Certified Green Designer, and Adam Barton, an architect and member of the A.I.A., is able to design your project quickly, complete engineering and specify finishes in a matter of weeks.  Most vendors/suppliers are able to get special order items such as cabinetry to us much more quickly than in the past. This allows Winans Construction to put together a project plan and schedule that will have you enjoying your new kitchen or bath before summer arrives!

The decrease in the backlog of projects is a boon for folks wishing to remodel. So, as they say, “take lemons and make lemonade!” Take advantage of the slowdown to either get your project design completed and ready or, go all the way and get the new kitchen, bathroom or whole home remodel you have been dreaming about.
From now through March 15 we are offering our design service at 1/2 off.
