June 21, 2006 -- Oakland, CA -- Winans Construction recently held its annual Trade Contractor Breakfast at the Courtyard by Marriott in Emeryville, CA. The company started the breakfasts in 2004 as a way to show appreciation for the specialty contractors it works with, and to establish guidelines for how Winans Construction and its trade contractors can work together most successfully.
This year's theme, "Promises, Promises," addressed the promises that Winans makes to its clients and how the trade contractors' actions on the job site affect those promises. Paul Winans, president of the company, stressed in his presentation the importance of adhering to Winans policies such as no smoking and keeping job sites neat. He reminded attendees that they are working in and around homes and to always be thinking, while they are working on a project, about what they would want to see happen in their own homes. After the presentation trade contractors were given awards voted on by Winans Construction's staff. THE WINNERS ARE:
Door prizes, generously donated by Truitt and White Lumber Co., were a new addition to the festivities as well as a prize to the company that brought the most employees (Paradigm Concrete and Masonry). Another first is that the handout of the presentation was translated into Spanish.
