"Winans
Construction moved beyond their peers in their quest for unparalleled customer
satisfaction," said Tommy Thompson, former NAHB president and current
member of the NAHB Research Center's Board of Directors at a press conference
introducing the Gold winner in Detroit, MI. "The company has a quality
culture and leaders who lead by example. They are raising the bar for the
rest of the industry," Thompson added.
"Winans Construction is a mission-focused company
and that mission is embodied in well-defined work procedures that put
the mission into action and make it a reality," said Ed Caldeira,
Director of Quality at the NAHB Research Center.
"In 1998, the company created a ten-year vision of what
the company should be and employees are marching there together," he added.
The announcement of this year's winners was made at
the National Association of Home Builders, Remodelers, Show in Detroit,
